What to expect from your home visit:

  • Each appointment is 55 minutes of exclusive 1:1 time with your physical therapist. No aides, assistants, or interruptions -- just focused care on your needs.

  • Our in-home clinicians see a fraction of the amount of patients seen in other clinics, allowing for greater personalized attention and care.

  • Comprehensive full-body evaluations that recognize the interconnectedness of your entire system, not just isolated areas.

  • A detailed physical assessment to identify areas of dysfunction will be performed at your evaluation, check-ins at each subsequent visit.

    Our PTs may assess:

    • your core for a diastasis recti

    • your spine, pelvis and hips

    • your external pelvic floor

    • your internal pelvic floor

    • other areas of concern for you, if applicable

  • Our clinicians love what they do and are genuinely invested in your journey, taking the time to understand your story and tailor their approach specifically to you. Confused by all the conflicting information on the internet? We hear you. Every body is different and every individual has a different history, different goals and different circumstances. You don't need to guess whether the advice you saw online will work for you. Our plans are personalized to meet your needs.

  • We carve out dedicated time on a weekly basis for clinical education, ensuring that we stay at the forefront of evidence-based practices. We discuss challenging cases so all of our brains can solve the hardest problems together, review the latest research and take classes as a team so we can keep serving you better.

Sima graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and French Studies from Rice University in 2015. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, TX in 2018.

She worked in pediatrics for one year before finding her true passion of pelvic health. She has worked as a pelvic health physical therapist since 2020.

Sima became interested in pelvic health in graduate school, and found she wanted to learn beyond what was taught. She was exposed to a pelvic health population on clinical rotation in San Diego. Even while working with babies and children, she found herself more and more aware of the challenges faced by pregnant and postpartum people, while so much focus is placed on the baby.

About Dr. Sima:

While Sima has worked with a wide variety of patients with pelvic floor concerns, she is passionate about pregnancy and postpartum. She believes there is so much education to be given to this population, and loves helping her patients advocate for better birth outcomes and postpartum recovery.

Since having her first child in August 2023, Sima has become even more aware of the importance of pelvic floor physical therapy to navigate pregnancy and postpartum, and the challenges that come with it. As of summer 2024, Sima is thrilled to be back in her hometown of Houston.

In her free time, you can find Sima trying new restaurants or walking around parks with her husband and son, with a hot coffee in her hand.

  • Internal exams provide valuable information but are never required.

We never perform a postpartum internal exam until a patient has been cleared for sex by their provider at their 6 week checkup.

  • The beauty of home visits is that we can see people as soon as they need us. If we are seeing you before you've been cleared for sex by your provider, we will not perform an internal examination but this is an excellent opportunity to check in with your body, begin addressing any symptoms you’re experiencing, and begin foundational rehab.

If you are late postpartum, it is never too late to get started! Whether you are 3 weeks, 3 months, 3 or 30 years postpartum, you can still regain strength and control of your body.

  • Sessions are 55 minutes long plus a few minutes for checking in, checking out, and scheduling future appointments.

  • Everyone has different needs so it’s hard to provide you with an appropriate expectation without more information about you and your needs. With that said, how often we see someone is dependent on how much hands-on therapy they need versus how much exercise they can do independently. We typically start with weekly appointments for a few visits before reducing frequency to every other or every few weeks.

The average plan of care for our patients is 6 visits over the course of 3-4 months. We of course see some folks for just one visit and others for longer.

Please contact us to speak with our team to get a better idea of what your plan may look like.

  • Yes. In the state of Texas, physical therapists are able to evaluate and treat a patient for up to 10 business days without a referral, however after that point a referral is required. This is dictated by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners and is a licensure requirement rather than an insurance requirement.

The need for a referral varies from state to state!

  • Absolutely! You can do PT while on your period and there is no reason we cannot perform a pelvic exam while you are menstruating. The only time we need to avoid a pelvic exam is if you have a UTI or yeast infection, or if you are uncomfortable.

  • Absolutely. Dr. Sima is passionate about working with anyone experiencing pelvic floor symptoms and anyone interested in optimizing their pelvic health.
