Did you know that our PTs can treat more than just your pelvic floor?!

You probably already know that in addition to a pelvic floor assessment, every evaluation at Lady Bird Physical Therapy includes a full body functional movement screen. But did you know that each and every one of our staff therapists is trained to treat the entire musculoskeletal system?

It’s true! Before specializing in the field of pelvic health, Dr. Shannon, Dr. Liz, Dr. Elizabeth and Dr. Sam all practiced in outpatient orthopedic settings. This means that each physical therapist has a background in treating every part of the body from head to toe (literally!)

Some of the most common complaints we hear from our postpartum folks are neck and shoulder pain (from lots of feeding/holding little ones), low back pain, foot and knee pain. While you may think that a pelvic floor PT’s are only interested in treating your pelvis, our goal is to treat YOU!, not just a piece of you.

Some conditions you might not know your pelvic floor PT can help with:

  • Migraines/chronic headaches/ dizziness

  • Neck pain

  • Jaw pain

  • Shoulder pain (rotator cuff, posture related, shoulder girdle pain etc)

  • Rib pain

  • Overuse injuries of upper extremity (carpal tunnel, tennis elbow)

  • Knee pain

  • Foot and ankle pain

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Gait dysfunction

  • Balance impairments

FAQs about orthopedic treatment

Can you treat two areas of the body at once?

Absolutely. Postpartum healing and knee pain? We’ve got you. Leaking and a calf strain? No problem. Neck pain and C-section recovery? Our pleasure.

Will my visit look different than I’m used to?

Nope! You’ll still be seen by your physical therapist for 55 minutes of 1:1 care, catered especially to your needs. Treatments will likely include a combination of education, manual therapy, exercise, and homework prescription.

Whether you’re looking for a more generalized “tune up”, or you want to come back and see your favorite therapist for an acute injury we are always more than happy to help our patients get back on the road to pain free movement.
