Identifying Torticollis & Head Flattening in Infants
If you’re like me, you think all babies are adorable and anything silly or asymmetrical that they do is even MORE adorable. But in reality, if your baby is constantly looking to one side or developing a flat spot on the back of their heads, you may want to get them evaluated for torticollis.
Torticollis is a condition that impacts the neck muscles of your little one. Babies often develop torticollis due to positioning in the uterus and can be treated in infancy!
In this conversation, we discuss:
What is torticollis?
What causes it?
How do you know if a baby has torticollis?
Why is there an increase in babies needing helmets now?
Can you help prevent babies from getting head flattening/helmets?
How does torticollis affect development and milestones?
What does physical therapy treatment for torticollis include?
